Abstract
This study was conducted in lieu of the increasing cases of depression and other negative psychological impact brought by death of a loved one. This study aimed to explore the positive impact and resilience of college students after trauma. Multiple case study method was employed using questionnaires, interview, standardized test, and checklist as means to gather data. The results show that the respondents are mostly males between the ages 17 and 18, most of the subjects are middle child, Roman Catholics, parents are high school graduate, and equal distribution in terms of annual family income. Moreover, almost all of the subjects obtained a below average Mental ability. For emotional quotient, they obtained a very low total emotional quotient. This shows that most of them have difficulty in handling challenges and stressors when they experience one. All of the subjects experienced seldom to often posttraumatic stressors. The respondents experienced resilience thru growth on relationship and spirituality. They seek the help of support system such as family and friends to cope with their traumatic experience. The proposed counseling intervention is support system based individual and group counseling with inclusion and exploration of posttraumatic growth
