Abstract
With the inevitable modernization, families have change on ways rearing children. This study aimed to determine the practices of nurturing among the millennial mothers and its effect to their children’s attitude, socialization, and relationship. Study source of data was in barangay Maniboc, Lingayen, Pangasinan. Specifically it sought to obtain the profile of the respondent that affect the nurturing activity of the respondent, the nurturing practice whether traditional or modern way, and the observation on the children’s attitude, socialization and relationship. Analization of this study greatly help as a based knowledge as to how parenting way contribute to the personality of the children. There are 145 millennial mothers who participated in the study. Majority are ages 33 to 37, married, not employed, finished high school graduate, are Roman Catholic, their husbands are self-employed, with a family income of 5,000 below, have 1 to 3 numbers of children in their family, they have owned concrete house and they are dependent to their both family sides. The dominant way practiced by the respondents on nurturing their children is modern yet still not forgetting to exhibit the traditional way. On the question describing their children’s attitude, behaviors, relationship with them, With modern way of nurturing data collected revealed that there was significant negative effect on the children’s attitude and relationship with their parent but on their socializations, there is no significant effect seen.
